SANTOS / About

Colour, gesture
and repeated intervention.

The surface is a record of what came before.

SANTOS is a self-taught abstract painter working since 2020. Layered surfaces develop through colour, gesture and repeated intervention, moving between high-energy canvases and quieter atmospheric pieces.

The practice connects layered fields of colour, dense networks of line and gestural painting. A mixed-media sculpture extends line into physical space. Across these approaches, the work investigates persistence, interruption and changes in attention.

Depth and rhythm remain central: earlier marks stay visible through partial coverage, while a change in distance can turn a network of individual lines into a field of colour.
